An arrest has been made by gardaí investigating a fatal hit-and-run in County Kerry overnight.
A teenage boy was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which happened after 3am on the N69 near Dromin Upper, Listowel.
The van involved failed to remain at the scene, but it has since been located by Gardaí.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and is being held for questioning at a garda station in the Kerry division.
The road remains closed between Cahirdown Roundabout and the townland of Derry for an examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
