Donegal’s Aaron and Caolán Reid have won the Irish Junior Tarmac Rally Championship after coming out on top in Class 16 of the Cork 20 Rally today.
The brothers, who hail from Gartan, knew they needed a top 4 finish in Cork to be crowned National Junior Champions and they claimed the title in style as they finished top of the pile.
With Aaron (24) behind the wheel and younger brother Caolán (22) on the pace notes, the pair finished over 5 minutes ahead of the next best in their Honda Civic 1.6 VTI this afternoon.
Aaron has only been rally driving for two years so it is a remarkable achievement for the youngster, who is also involved with the Termon Senior Football team.
Caolán, meanwhile, has been navigating in the junior categories around Ireland for many years growing up.
