It has been confirmed that tremors detected in Donegal last week were caused by an earthquake.
It happened last Monday shortly after 4pm and measured 1.1 in magnitude.
The Irish National Seismic Network says the earthquake had a depth of seven kilometres and appears to have occurred near Milford.
