
A call has been made for a monument to be erected in the Twin Towns to recognise the work of the emergency services.
The proposed monument would highlight the vital role of emergency workers, while also raising awareness of the physical and emotional toll of responding to traumatic incidents.
Some Cllrs in the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District have given their initial backing to the idea.
An official letter is now being prepared to discuss the proposal in more detail.
The idea has been put forward by paramedic and former Rescue 118 winchman Aiden Thompson.
He says the monument would be a meaningful way of showing appreciation for those working in the emergency services:
