Donegal TD Charles Ward said the people of Inishowen need some good news during a discussion about Buncrana Leisure Centre.
The centre was closed for what were described as temporary works in 2015, but has now been closed for 11 years.
Deputy Ward has raised concerns that further delays could lead to increased construction costs due to inflation, and objections over the co-funding required from Donegal County Council.
He has called on the Taoiseach to intervene, saying Buncrana needs delivery:
