Former swimming coach George Gibney has been jailed for 15 years and six months.
He was found guilty in July of thirty-nine counts of indecent assault against four girls, and one count of attempted rape against one of them between 1971 and 1981.
Mr Justice Mícheál O’Higgins said Mr. Gibney’s offending was ‘predatory in nature’ and a ‘gross abuse’ of his position.
78-year-old George Gibney, made no reaction when the sentence was handed down.
