Working people should not be penalised by unnecessary bureaucracy.
That’s according to Cllr Ali Farren, who says the process to tax a commercial vehicle here is over complex and time consuming.
At a recent MD meeting, Cllr Farren flagged the experience of a young man who ran into difficulty.
Its understood the young man hadn’t had the van weighed, and one document was missing a garda signature.
Cllr Farren says the real issue is that the taxation counter at the Public Services Centre is only open two days a week, and the process needs to be more efficient.……..
