McNulty, McNamee, Tagbo and Coll back for Harps as Champions come to Finn Park

With the promotion play off against UCD on the horizon, Finn Harps end their series of league games against Wexford Youths on Saturday evening at Finn Park.
Harps will play the students home and away over the next fortnight with the winner going on to play the club that finishes second from bottom in the Premier Division – also over two legs. The winner of that tie will play in the Premier Division next season.
Before that though, Harps have their final outing in the league with the visit of the Champions to Ballybofey.
“Wexford already turned us over in Ballybofey and went on to deservedly win the league,” said Harps Manager Ollie Horgan
“They have a great mixture of experience with younger lads and have a lot of top players,” he said. “They have a bit of everything from ability to strength and togetherness. They will be a great test for us on Saturday.”
Despite nothing only points at stake in Saturday’s game as all but the minor finishing spots have been decided in the First Division, Horgan will still be preparing his team in the usual fashion ahead of the game.
“We prepare for every game the same as the last game although we hope to get lads game time that were out last week,” continued the Harps boss.
Last Friday, a much changed Harps side recorded a 1-1 draw against Athlone Town at Lissywollen.
“Athlone are a strong side and any result down there is good,” said Horgan. “We weren’t at our best in the second half in particular and were lucky in the end to get a point. However, it was good to see a few of our younger players stepping up to the first team and doing well.”
Horgan has the suspended foursome of Tony McNamee, Wilfried Tagbo, Ciaran Coll and Kevin McHugh available again, although the latter is a doubt for Saturday’s game. Damien McNulty has made a quicker than anticipated return from injury while Raymond Foy is the only player now on the injured list.
Wexford hold the upper hand over Harps this season with two victories in the three games between the sides. Wexford also have a great record at Finn Park and only left empty-handed on five of their previous fifteen visits to Ballybofey.
