New car sales and registrations down in Donegal

New car sales in Donegal fell by almost 19% in the first six months of this year, while overall registrations, including cars imported over the border, were down by almost 16%.
A report, compiled by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry and Done Deal, blames the decline in new car registrations on rising living costs and the uncertainty of Brexit.
Figures published by the Society of the Irish Motor Indsutry reveal that during the first six months of the year, new car sales declined in every county, with Donegal experiencing the largest decline at 18.6%.
To date, in Donegal there have been 2682 car registrations, down 15.92% during the same period last year.
According to DoneDeal in the first 6 months of this year 10,656 car ads from Donegal were placed on their site, a decline of 15.96%.
