Three county councils have been hearing from candidates trying to get a nomination to run for President.
Meath, Kildare and Westmeath local authorities heard pitches from a number of people who want to be the next President of Ireland.
Many said they understand the President has very little power to influence policy decisions in Ireland.
But Donegal artist Kevin Sharkey doesn’t think that means the role is limited:
