Women who are vegetarian 33% more likely to fracture hip in later life

It’s thought women who follow a vegetarian diet may have a higher risk of breaking their hips in later life.

Using data drawn from the UK Women’s Cohort Study, researchers from the University of Leeds have found their chances of suffering a fracture is 33%  higher than regular meat eaters.

They’ve based that on a study of more than 26,000 on individuals aged 35 to 69 years old.
