House prices continue to rise in Donegal

House prices in Donegal continue to rise.

The latest Residential Property Price Barometer from IPAV, covering the first half of 2022 shows an overall price increase of 6.36% on the previous six months.

Latest figures from the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers, Residential Property Price Barometer show the cost of a four bedroom semi-detached house in the county has seen the biggest increase. Now costing on average almost €217,000 – that’s an increase of 4.84%.

Meanwhile, figures covering the last six months show the price of a 3 bedroom semi-detached property has risen 3.67% to €188,334.

A two bedroom apartment will now cost around €166,600, up 4.48% when compared to the previous six months.

Pat Davitt, IPAV Chief Executive, expects in the period ahead, the level of price increases is likely to slow further.

He says if we can get to a stage where output grows closer to demand that would be a very desirable situation and it would create stability in the market.
