Prosecution of Solider F to resume today after courts mix up

The prosecution of a British soldier in connection with the events of Bloody Sunday will resume today, in Belfast.

Soldier F is facing charges or murder and attempted murder, in relation to one of the worst attacks during the Troubles.

Legal proceedings had been due to pick up again yesterday – but a mix up at the courts has meant its been pushed back until today.

The case had to be adjourned after lawyers were sent to Laganside in Belfast while the judge had traveled to Derry Magistrates.

Soldier F’s facing two counts of murder and five of attempted murder in connection with Bloody Sunday in 1972, when 13 people were killed when British paratroopers opened fire on civil rights demonstrators in the city.
