Donegal stalwart Neil McGee has announced his Intercounty retirement.
The All Ireland winner and three time All Star full back confirmed his decision with the Donegal News just weeks before his 37th birthday.
He ends his career with a record 195 appearances for Donegal alongside 5 Ulster Championship medals and of course the All Ireland medal from 2012.
McGee made his competitive debut against Fermanagh in the McKenna Cup in 2005.
Neil told Frank Craig, “The body just doesn’t have anything left to give,”
“Whatever is left in the tank now I intend to give it all to Gaoth Dobhair. But representing my county, it’s been such a massive part of my life but I can look back and say it was all worth it. I have no regrets. Yeah, there are games and big days that got away from us. And they stick in the throat. But if I could rewind the clock and do it all over again I would.”
