A Sinn Féin West Tyrone MLA has described comments made by the Chair of Strabane District Council as not only grossly offensive but totally inappropriate.
DUP Cllr Thomas Kerrigan said that “God made man and he made woman as a helper’when outlining why he would be opposing a motion seeking that the local council supports same sex marriage.
The motion is to be debated in the Council Chamber this coming Monday.
