Government e-wallet could be launched by end of year

A government digital wallet could be launched by the end of the year.

The e-wallet, which could hold the likes of digital drivers licences, birth certs and European health insurance cards, is part of the development of the State’s Digital ‘Life Events’ Service – which is being brought to Cabinet this morning.

Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe will seek government approval for the plans.
