It was a busy weekend for RNLI crews in Donegal.
Lough Swilly RNLI came to the aid of two anglers after their boat was hit by a freak wave off Carryblagh on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Arranmore RNLI were tasked to asisst in a medical evacuation yesterday.
The volunteer crew of Arranmore RNLI were tasked by the Malin Head Coast Guard at 8am yesterday morning to assist in a medical evacuation from Arranmore island.
The volunteer first responders of the Arranmore ambulance delivered the patient to Leabgarrow pier and the patient was then transferred to the lifeboat.
Upon arrival at Burtonport the patient was moved to a waiting ambulance and then on to Letterkenny University Hospital for assessment.
Sean Curtin, from Valentia island, is a regional resilience coxswain/mechanic with the RNLI and is involved in travelling to various RNLI stations to fill in for local crews who are on leave. Sunday was his fourth time with the Arranmore RNLI and he has commended the team of their efficiency and knowledge of the area.
