Mark English ran his best ever championship performance to qualify for the semi finals of the 800m at the Paris Olympics games this morning.
The Finn Valley man ran a superb race to finish second in heat 2 in 1:45.15.
Gabriel Tual of France pipped the Letterkenny native at the line to win the heat.
Mark goes straight to the semi’s on Friday morning.
