Donegal County Council have advised all winter maintenance routes will be gritted from 3pm Friday and again from 6am Saturday.
This comes as cold temperatures and freezing rain is predicted for some areas on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Road users are advised to use extreme care on the roads and assume that no road is ice free.
