Figures released by the CSO today show a year-on-year increase in the number of cars registered for the first time in Donegal.
During 2025, 6,251 cars were registered for the first time, an increase of 8.8% on the year prior.
In 2024, 5,745 cars were registered for the first time.
Nationally, there was a 36% increase in the number of new private electric vehicles licensed for the first time.
Meanwhile, the number of petrol vehicles licensed for the first time saw a 14% decrease.
