Letterkenny University Hospital was the second most overcrowded in the country this morning, according to new figures.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation reported that 38 patients were waiting for beds.
Of those, nine were in the Emergency Department, while 29 were elsewhere in the hospital.
It comes after a statement yesterday, warning LUH was dealing with a high number of patients presenting to the ED and asking people to consider other healthcare options where appropriate.
