Cockhill Celtic advanced to Round 6 of the FAI Junior Cup with a 5-1 win over Glenmuir United at the Charlie O’Donnell Sports Grounds this afternoon.
The home side took the lead on 28 mins when Garbhan Friel headed home.
Cockhill then added two quick goals just before half time.
Firstly, Danny McDaid reacted well to nod home and then Lee McColgan’s penalty made it 3-0 at half-time.
The Louth side pulled one back after the break but McDaid made it 4-1 and effectively ended the contest.
Jay Bradley volleyed in from close range to seal the win and book Cockhill’s passage through to Round 6 where they will travel to Limerick to face Fairview Rangers.
