People are being urged to rent their spare room to a student this college year.
A survey from the Department of Further and Higher Education shows 65% of homeowners say their experience of renting a room was positive.
The study carried out by Amárach, shows more than 60% of homeowners would consider offering digs, with 82% of under 35s being open to the idea.
Homeowners can earn up to €14,000 tax free and students or parents can get a tax credit of up to €2,000 a year.
