Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses to an assault which occurred in the city centre at the weekend.
The assault took place shortly after five past 12 on Saturday afternoon in the Peace Garden on Foyle Street.
Police say the male victim of an attack in the area sustained a leg injury and facial injuries as a result of the assault, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Three men were arrested and later released on bail to allow police to conduct further enquiries.
Chief Inspector Ian Ferriby said this was a horrible incident, which left the victim hospitalised., adding it happened in the middle of the day when the area would have been busy, and it must have been a frightening incident to have witnessed.
