The death has taken place of Des Callaghan, 46 Ashlawn, Baile Raithin, Letterkenny F92 FXT8, and formerly of Ballina, Co. Mayo.
Peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Retired member of An Garda Síochána.
Predeceased by his mother Annie (O’Malley), father Vincey and infant sister Anne.
Des will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Julia; children Pól (Fiona), Louise (John), Yvonne (Fearghall) and Angie (Corinne).
Des will be sadly missed by his adoring grandchildren, Bláthnaid, Néamh, Lorcán, Dara-Trása, Étain, Ava, Senan, Cillian, Clodagh agus Sadie; his sisters Mary (Dublin) and Joan (Kent); brothers Frank (Kent) and Vin (Ballina); his many nieces, nephews-in-law and a wide circle of family, friends, Garda comrades and neighbours.

Des will be reposing at his home on Sunday 30th August and Monday 31st August from 12pm to 10pm.
Funeral from there on Tuesday 1st September, going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery.
