The body of a woman has been recovered from the water at Pollet, Fanad.
Emergency services were alerted after the woman, aged in her 60’s, fell into the water last evening.
Gardai say a multi-agency response was launched involving the Coastguard and RNLI, and the woman’s body was subsequently recovered from the water.
Her body has been transferred to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a postmortem examination will take place.
