Finn Harps long wait for a win in the League of Ireland First Division is over as the Ballybofey side won 3-1 on the road at Wexford on Friday night.
It’s Harps first victory since the 3rd July, which also came against Wexford some ten games ago and a first for interim boss Patrick McEleney.
The game came to life five minutes into the second half as Tony McNamee put the visiting Harps ahead but they would concede a minute later as Liam Doyle leveled up the tie for the home side.
Bernardo Monteiro would be the hero on the night, the substitute bagged a brace on 60 and 85 minutes to give the Harps the three points.
It’s a brilliant win for Harps but they remain rooted to the bottom of the table five points adrift of Treaty Utd.
