Donegal seven-year-old Seamie Sean Brennan has landed a starring role in a new National Dairy Council campaign celebrating Irish dairy.
Originally from Cavan and now living in Rossnowlagh, he plays Seání alongside Dublin actor Gavan O’Connor-Duffy who plays Irish warrior Cú Chulainn.
Filmed on Dermot Phibb’s dairy farm in Co. Wicklow, the advertisement centres around a humorous misunderstanding between Seání and Cú Chulainn.
It launches as new National Dairy Council research reveals strong national pride in Irish dairy, while also pointing to a weaker connection among younger adults.
74% of Irish adults say they feel proud of the Irish dairy sector, but this falls to just 55% among 18-24-year-olds.
Emma Walls, CEO of the National Dairy Council, believes the national picture of dairy is very positive, but feels it is important to tackle the disconnect in the 18-24 cohort.
