The Foreign Affairs Minister says now is not the time to raise the rhetoric around the protests in the North.
It’s after almost 50 celebrities and public figures signed an open letter supporting residents of the Garvaghy Road.
The letter comes as a ruling in a challenge against the decision to allow an Orange Order parade along the Garvaghy Road in Portadown is awaited by the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal.
Minister Helen McEntee says the issue can only be resolved by the residents and the Orange Order finding a way forward:
Stormont’s three unionist parties have backed a motion of no confidence in Sinn Fein First Minister Michelle O’Neill.
It comes amid the major political row over the Drumcree dispute, and her attendance at a Garvaghy Road protest in Portadown.
The motion – which also extends to a number of other Sinn Fein Ministers – will be debated in Stormont next week, but will fail as it requires cross community support.
