Derry City and Strabane District Council are urging dog owners to be safe and seen while walking.
They say, now that evenings are getting darker, it’s important that pedestrians and pets are safe.
Dog owners are being asked to keep control of their dog and not let them off the lead, wear high-visibility clothing so you can be easily seen by motorists and use a reflective collar and lead or a high-visibility coat/flashing collar for your pet to increase their visibility in the dark.
