Bonagee United claimed their first victory of the season in dramatic fashion, running out 3–2 winners against Cockhill Celtic in the first-ever all-Donegal clash in the FAI National League.
The visitors drew first blood after just seven minutes when Luke Rudden converted from the penalty spot.
However, Bonagee responded strongly, with Gareth Breslin leveling the scores twenty minutes later before Micheál Doherty put the hosts ahead just before the half-hour mark.
Shane Moran extended Bonagee’s lead in first-half injury time to make it 3–1 going into the break.
Substitute Danny McDaid pulled one back late on for Cockhill, but it proved to be only a consolation as the hosts held firm for all three points.
