The Cathaoirleach of Inishowen Municipal District says a meeting is being sought with Oireachtas members to discuss the future of greenways.
Cllr Martin Farren says TDs and senators have greater influence on the issue, and it’s now time for them to get involved.
He says no funding has been made available for greenway maintenance, while farmers are fearful of possible compulsory purchase orders.
Cllr Farren says a meeting between local councillors and farmers this week was very focused, and now is the time for Oireachtas members to meet with local councillors and farmers’ representatives to discuss the issues………………………….
