It’s the opening day of the Vuelta Espana, with the riders taking part in a 12-point-six kilometre time trial in Jerez.
Donegal’s Philip Deignan is taking part and is eagerly looking forward to the event having finished strongly in the Tour of Poland where he finished seventh overall.
Deignan, who rides with Team Sky, will be concentrating on helping 2013 Tour de France winner Chris Froome.
Ireland’s Dan Martin is also taking part.
La Vuelta a Espana is the third biggest cycling tour in Europe after the Tour de France and Giro D’Italia.
The race has 21 stages with today’s opening stage being a team time trial.
Deignan is now based in Monaco.
