The HIQA report into ambulance services published today calls for the ambulance service to be integrated with the new Hospital Group model which has been implemented across he country, and urges the HSE to oversee that process.
Phelim Quinn is the Chief Executive of HIQA – he says there needs to be more co-operation between various agencies to improve ambulance turn around times.
The report also calls for a wider rollout of other paramedic vehicles like cars and motorbikes.
However, Donegal North East Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn says the bottom line is what is really needed are more ambulances………..
