Boy left deformed by Derry attack – High Court hears

A teenage visitor to Derry was left with a deformed ear after he was attacked, the High Court has heard.
Two women and a man have been charged with grievous bodily harm. The court heard a man and a woman were seen jumping on the 16-year-old’s head.
One of the three charged, 22-year-old Rose Mongan, care of the Simon Community, Strabane, was granted bail yesterday.
She said she tried to stop the attack. Her solicitor said CCTV footage set her at up to 10ft away from the assault.
The judge ordered Ms Mongan to stay out of Derry.
The court was told that the 16-year-old boy from Birmingham was socialising with his brother in the city last Thursday.
He went to get a takeaway and was attacked. He suffered severe cuts and needed 17 stitches.
The cartilage at the back of his right ear was so badly damaged that he will be permanently deformed, the court heard.
