Coughlan says government’s tough decision will save economy

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has accused the government of ignoring the jobs crisis and failing the 435,000 people out of work.
In a May Day statement, Congress General Secretary David Begg says the entire apparatus of Government seems ‘transfixed’ by the banking crisis.
The annual May Day rally saw protestors march from Parnell Square to Liberty Hall.
Speaking to Highland Radio News the Tanaiste Mary Coughlan said the government had to make tough decisions for the right reasons:
