A robbery at Carrigans Post Office in February of last year has been raised by Donegal North East Deputy Joe Mc Hugh at an Oireachtas Communuications Committee meeting.
During the meeting, Deputy Mc Hugh claimed that Carrigans and other rural areas close to major population centres in Northern Ireland are being treated differently to similar areas near Galway and Cork.
Deputy Mc Hugh challenged the An Post delegation at the meeting about the way the carrigans incident is being investigated, and the level of support being given to the postmistress there………..
Deputy Mc Hugh’s claim of concerns at how the robbery in Carrigans is being investigated were denied at the meeting by An Post’s Retail Director.
John Daly declined to comment in detail on the Carrigans situation, but said he and other senior management are satisfied with the level of support they receive from gardai……….
