FG fail in bid to amend Fisheries legislation

As expected, a Fine Gael bill seeking to introduce administrative penalties for minor fishing offences was defeated in the Dail last night, with Minister Brendan Smith indicating that the government weill bring in its own bill shortly.
Among those who spoke on the debate last night was Donegal South West Deputy Dinny Mc Ginley, who reminded deputies that a file has been sent to the DPP about one of his constituents who was four kilogrammes over quota.
