First female chairperson on Strabane Council in 32 years

Strabane District Council has its first female chairperson in 32 years.
Last night, Sinn Fein Councillor Michaela Boyle was elected Chairperson, DUP Councillor Thomas Kerrigan is the new Vice Chair.
Councillor Boyle said that it was a “personal privilege and an honour” to be elected, saying she is commited to inclusion, and to reaching out to all sections of the community.
And she said she hoped to involve more women within the council.
