Arranmore Island will tomorrow mark the 75th anniversary of the Arranmore Disaster, the boating tragedy that took the lives of 19 islanders.
In the aftermath of the tragedy the Donegal Association of Dublin was formed to raise money for the families – members of the association will travel to the island for the commemoration.
Eighteen of the 19 victims of the tragedy came from the same part of Arranmore, and seven were from the same family.
