Domestic Violence Service under severe pressure

The Donegal Domestic Violence Service says cutbacks in it’s funding are having a serious impact at a time when demand for its service has risen by 100%.
So far this year, the service has not been able to accomodate 17 women and 16 children, a significant increase on last year.
A spokesperson says while alternative accomodation was found for all of them, funding problems are making their job very difficult.
Spokesperson Fiona Doherty says the service is under severe pressure………..
