The search is continuing for a man who is still missing after the fishing boat “Jennifer” went aground on rocks near Glengad in North Inishowen.
The body of the second man in the boat was recovered within an hour of the search being called just before 11 o’clock this morning. The body was that of a man in his sixties.
The Lough Swilly and Portstewart lifeboats and local fishing boats are at the scene, backed by the Sligo based Irish Coastguard helicopter. We understand conditions have worsened in the area, and an RNLI spokesperson has indicated visibility is becoming an issue.

Moville based Senator Cecilia Keavney knows the families of both men very well, and says it’s yet anothjer tragedy visited on the Inishowen peninsula.
Senator Keavney has commended the emergency services and also the local fishermen who were so speedily on the scene. She says she looks forward to a full investigation of what happened so that the many immediate questions can be answered, but today must be about supporting the bereaved families…….
