Letterkenny Town Council is to investigate whether money is available to buy the Old Forge building opposite Skittle Alley close to Ballymacool.
The issue was raised this week by Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh, who says the forge is a part of Letterkenny’s heritage which should be retained if at all possible. However, he accepts that it would not be possible for the council to buy the site itself.
He says funding may be resourced from the OPW or another government agency……….
