Plans to highlight the links between the former US Speaker Tipp O’Neill and Inishowen have moved on with the establishment of a Commemoration Committee.
The committee has now identified three projects to pursue, a Tipp O’Neill Diaspora Award, a bursary and a summer school.
It’s also planned to re-point a memorial stone located in the garden of the Buncrana Civic Offices, and move it to a more prominent location in the town.
Buncrana’s Mayor Cllr Nicholas Crossan says they want to run the summer school early next year:
