Chinese woman appears in Court in Derry charged with husbands murder

A 38 year-old Chinese woman has appeared at Derry Magistrate’s Court accused of murdering her husband.
Shuwei Shang, of 61 Frances Street, is charged with murdering 51 year-old Damien Keenan on Tuesday November 1.
Deputy District Judge Des Perry asked the woman, through an interpreter if she understood the charge, to which she replied ‘yes.’
An investigating officer told the court he believed he could connect her to the charge.
Members of Mr Keenan’s family were in court for the brief appearance.
There was no bail application and Shang was remanded in custody to appear again via video link on December 1.
