Gambling, alcohol and cigarettes are all being hit in the budget.
The government’s to introduce legislation extending the betting duty to remote betting.
The VAT increase of 2 per cent will apply to alcohol – but no other excise increase will be applied.
In addition, Minister Noonan says a packet of cigarettes will increase by 25 cent from midnight tonight:
