Donegal had one of the highest unemployment rates in the country last year.
That’s according to 2011 Census figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.
Cork City and Waterford also showed high rates of unemployment, while Limerick City had the highest unemployment rate in the country last year.
New information also released shows that the number of students in Ireland rose by 59-thousand, almost 17 percent, since 2006.
The number of retirees has also risen – by 79-thousand thousand, an increase of 21 percent.
