An Bord Pleanala has given Buncrana Town Council the go ahead to proceed with works at the Aghilly Road. Part of the land will have to be secured through a Compulsory Purchase Order.
Buncrana Town Councillor Ciaran McLaughlin says no elected representative or public official likes having to use a CPO, but sadly in this case, it was absolutely required.
He says the Aghilly Road is treacherous for pedestrians and the straightening of the road with footpaths and lighting is a must. The priority now, he says, is to secure funding to aquire the land and proceed with the works…………
