HSE confirms cross border options for Lifford Hospital are being explored

The HSE has confirmed that officials are exploring cross border options for service delivery at Lifford Community Hospital.
It emerged yesterday that a consultation process on the future of the hospital which was to have begun this week has been deferred.
In a statement to Highland Radio News today, the HSE says while this work is ongoing, it is not logical to carry out a consultation process until all of the information is gathered and reviewed. It is expected that this exploratory work will be completed towards the end of September 2012.
