Flanagan says Swilly Hotel site had become a target for vandals

Gardai are preparing to begin their investigation into the cause of a fire which gutted the site of the old Swilly Hotel in Buncrana overnight. Diversions around the site have now been lifted, and the Lough Swilly Ferry is back on the water after an earlier suspension.
The building had been disused for some time, with numerous reports of anti-social behaviour and attempted vandalism at the site while it was in the control of Flanagans.
Late last year, the company went into receivership, and since then it’s been under the control of Deloitte and Touche.
Speaking to Greg on the show this morning, Brian Flanagan said they had enhanced and improved security at the site on several occasions before the receivers took it over………….
